Ava Blu Wilson is a creative writer and illustrator who writes children’s literature, young adult literature, realistic fiction, comedy, inspirational prose, and poetry. Her love of words and writing was realized at the tender age of three when she read children’s books flipped upside down and “wiggle danced” to Sesame Street. Her inspiration, motivation, and drive to write is fueled by God, expressed through her love of words, and ignited by the desire to share a story.
Ava Blu embraces the importance of being able to think beyond self and see the world past her own fingers and toes. She believes an open mind and heart fuel creativity, adventure, and the ability to speak the truth of the wonder in this wide, wide world. She unearths a unique take on life in regard to people, things, situations, and scenarios, which elevates her work to new levels of detail, discovery, and creative drive.
Ava Blu is a published author and illustrator of the children’s books titled "Crunky McBunky," "He Said My Name!" and "The Little Sit-Down Boy." Her first YA novel "The Why, Oh Why's of Serena Dunson," has also been published. She has also been blessed to have two flash fiction pieces “Double Vision,” and “Caddy Cornered,” published online.
Her poetry is published in the Best Emerging Poet anthologies published by Z Publishing House for the years 2017, 2018, and 2019.
In addition, Ava Blu is an instructor and a performing artist skilled in acting, spoken word poetry, vocals, percussion instruments, dance, and dance choreography.
