Lessons on the Lake’s “Virtual Piano Academy” is a 21st Century web-based interactive technology designed to eliminate barriers to learning piano.
Participants will develop functional keyboard skills such as sight reading, harmonization, accompanying, transposition, improvisation, composition, and creative activities. Collective decision-making allows students to solve the problem on their own with guidance from both the teacher and peers. This social learning can assist with developing independent learning.
This innovative virtual learning system will allow students to learn 4 to 8 times faster than traditional teaching methods. It combines the addictive and challenging nature of video gaming; therefore, practicing piano becomes fun!
Group sessions provide an environment in which ensemble skills are developed. For the end-of-session course grade, students will showcase their skill development with a piano ensemble recital.
Virtual Piano Academy offers:
Beginning and Intermediate level lessons to children beginning ages 4 to 17 years of age.
