  • BUSINESS / YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

PROJECT SUMMARY:

C.A.E.’s Makin' the Band (MTB) is a workshop designed to introduce students to the industries of music, engineering, and film making. MTB’s goals are to reinforce interpersonal skills of listening, decision making, assertiveness, and respect for others - which are among the qualities now most highly valued in business and high-tech industry contexts.

Participating students will explore technical aspects of meter, various genres of music, songwriting structure, brand building, and hands-on experience in operating computer-based digital audio and visual workstations and equipment.

Guest appearances by Local and National Recording and Performing Artists play an integral part in our student's learning experience. The artists serve as music mentors to help students reach their full potential within the music and production industry and beyond. Constructive criticism will be given by the experts to help enhance the overall product and to share the importance of making wise choices in life in order to accomplish their dreams. Video and film production courses will also be introduced.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

C.A.E.'s MTB web series will air four 15-minute episodes on the World Wide Web, Amazon Fire, and Roku streaming devices to highlight the progress and performance of the band.  Episodes from the auditions to the production recording of their first music and video projects, students will have acquired real-life experiences designed to inspire music entrepreneurial strategies for the future.

The end-of-workshop highlight and final show taping will broadcast the band as they tour with C.A.E.'s Founder & CEO, B.J. Pleasant  for three days in Germany. This web series is loosely based on the concept of ABC/MTV's Making the Band television show.
