PROJECT SUMMARY:
C.A.E.’s Literacy “REMIXED” is a fast paced, high energy course in theatre that exposes youth to exploring literature and reading, based on common core standards for Reading and aligned to the College and Career Ready Standards.
KEY IDEAS AND DETAILS
Students will provide textual evidence, make inferences, identify theme and literary elements, and summarize text.
CRAFT & STRUCTURE
Students will have the ability to identify the basic structure of poetry, drama and stories which gives the student a tool to follow the progression of theme and ideas as they are built in the story.
INTEGRATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE & IDEAS
Students will make connections and comparisons across texts and develop an understanding of themes and topics as they appear across genres.
Commencing the required reading, students will present on stage a production “remixed” and mastered from their own point of view, incorporating singing, dancing and spoken word drama!
